Strategy to implementation - Niterra EMEA GmbH's office relocation was a complete success

Community works even better on site

The aim of the project was to successfully implement the move to a new prestigious headquarters and to support a hybrid way of working through the premises. The new workspaces enable the implementation of modern working models that combine open, collaborative and interactive approaches. Collaborative working and a sense of cohesion should encourage employees to come into the office from their home office. For Niterra, the new working environment should be decisive for the company's employer branding, among other things. In addition, the space must do justice to the dynamic corporate environment and be correspondingly agile.



Comprehensive analysis phase: stay or go?

Niterra was faced with the decision of whether to renovate their existing building or move to a new one. coneon supported this process with a comprehensive analysis in order to make an economically sensible and sustainable decision. The status quo of the office space and possible controversies in everyday working life were identified, optimization possibilities were examined and individual working methods were developed. The flexibility of the space in the new building was an elementary decision factor. Future growth is possible here, and costs can also be saved through hybrid working methods. The comparison between renovation and new build ultimately led to the decision to make the move.

In order to gain a precise understanding of Niterra's needs and combine all preferences, we conducted appropriate surveys and analyses as well as online workshops and on-site meetings during the strategy phase. Based on these results, coneon gained important insights into the technical and structural requirements, but above all into the needs and wishes of the teams.

Design & Build on 5600 square meters

Based on the results of the strategy phase, we went into the floor plan and 3D planning phase and developed a hybrid office concept with collaborative work areas, flexible meeting and training areas and several retreat zones. Office zones and neighborhoods were planned in close communication with Niterra.

Following material and furniture sampling and final decisions, implementation could begin. The close cooperation with the landlord, the management team and the fit-out company enabled us to ensure that the deliveries, assembly and positioning of the furniture ran smoothly. In total, we transformed 5,600 square meters into a modern and hybrid working environment within three months of construction completion. Activity-based working can be lived here.

Andrea Kuzaj tells us how the project went in detail and how the employees reacted to the new office concept.


A strong partner

Following the decision to relocate, coneon oversaw the entire process - from support in the property search and the creation of an individual office concept to the implementation and furnishing of the new office space in the Schwarzbach Quartier in Ratingen.

The employees have happily accepted the new working environment and are delighted with it. The office space places a strong focus on the needs and well-being of the workforce.  The well thought-out design of the working environment promotes cooperation and social contacts on site. Teamwork, creativity and collaboration in general are strengthened.

This was not the first time we had the opportunity to work with Niterra GmbH, so we were all the more pleased to be able to design and implement this inspiring space through all phases.
